Ever since cryptocurrencies have taken the world by storm, they have been in the news almost every other day. The rising and falling of various coins have been a hot topic on social media platforms, most of which take place on Twitter. The biggest example can be seen through the tweets of Elon Musk. With every tweet of Musk’s about the cryptos, there have been significant changes in the price of the coin.
All of this, of course, cannot be neglected anymore and the giant social media firm has realised the importance of cryptocurrencies, with the promises being made to work on the blockchains. Tess Rinearson has been crowned with the responsibility to lead a team of crypto on Twitter and has put up a tweet, leading to this news. “As I build out the team, we’ll be working to figure out what crypto can do for Twitter, as well as what Twitter can do for crypto,” the engineer tweeted this past Wednesday.
Instead of just working on the cryptos, this team would emphasize the fundamental solutions along with the blockchains. This will allow the team to know more about the methods through which Twitter can be used to support the interest of creators and manage cryptocurrencies.
The newly-appointed crypto team of Twitter will be collaborating with bluesky, an initiative sponsored by Twitter. This partnership will be focusing on the long-term objectives by beginning with the little steps. Twitter is soon expected to put out an option for Bitcoin payments or NFT sales, marking the start of the journey.
The formation of this new team is still in development and Rinearson has been closely working with the potential engineers to be involved in the project.
Cryptocurrencies are still not trusted by many but this move by Twitter, as it is a top technology establishment, will ensure increased faith in the blockchain and the virtual currency.
